Following the passage of Hurricane Nora last August, the Río Cuale market suffered collateral damage due to the growth of the river on one side.

Cecilio Lopez, who is the Administrator of the Cuale River Market, affirms that a technical report has been made by civil protection where they assure that the structure of the market is in good condition and in operating conditions.

The pandemic and the hurricane left economic damage to its tenants by having to close the facility temporarily, for a short time, after Hurricane Nora, some of the vendors had to relocate to Parque Hidalgo.

Nowadays
The Cuale River Municipal Market is open and available to tourists and locals alike, at Agustin Rodriguez, Centro, in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco.

Encino Street has a tourist corridor, where you can find a variety of shops that belong to the Municipal Market. It has a parking space for tourist vehicles.

The Rio Cuale market is characterized for being a place where you can find handicrafts from all over the country, souvenirs and especially different souvenirs of Vallarta. It also has a space with restaurants of popular and economical food.

The Administration Department and the Directorate of Tourism are working to promote the public markets in Vallarta and give them a better positioning.
